Before you read anything else I want you to watch this video:
That's right! The ninth edition to our family will coming August 2013! As you can imagine, all of us are very excited. I have already started making the new baby a crocheted blanket and have plans to make several other goodies.
Immediately after we found out we were going to have another baby the inevitable argument about its gender began. Arden and Lucan desperately want a boy and keep talking about their new baby "brother." Tobin says he's okay with either, but he thinks it's going to be a girl. Kenna and I want a sister, and I think Mom does, too. I have a feeling it's a girl, but of course whatever God gives us will be perfect.
Then the discussion began about where the baby would sleep. After talking about several possibilities it was decided that the easiest and most practical thing to do would be to move the wardrobe out of my room and put the baby's crib in its place. Of course, I was thrilled with that idea. It will be much easier than sharing a room with Kenna.
In about two months we will find out if our baby is a boy or girl. As soon as I find out I'll be sure to post the news. I think that's all I have to say to you right now. But here's a little letter for the baby:
Dear Baby,
We were all very excited when we heard you were coming into our family. You will be the seventh baby born to us. You have six older siblings, two sisters and four brothers; and loving parents.
The baby of the family right now is Zaden. He will be two years old when you are born. You might even share a birthday with him.
Lucan is two years older than Zaden. The two will be close pals when they are older. Lucan is thrilled that Mommy is having another baby.
Kenna is the sister closest to your age. She loves to play with her younger brothers and can't wait for your birth. She absolutely love babies and will shower you with love and attention.
Arden is a playful, happy boy. He is great with the younger ones and will play with you for hours. He hopes that you will be a boy.
Tobin is excited about you, and doesn't care what gender you are. He loves to make people laugh and is Arden's best playmate.
I'm your oldest sibling. I love to make things and by the time you are born I will have a whole bunch of gifts for you. You'll be sharing my room.
Dear Baby, I'm so excited about you! I'll lay awake at night dreaming up new projects to make you. Sometimes I just can't believe we're going to be a family of nine!
The ultra-sound to determine if you're a girl or a boy will be in about two months. I think you're a girl. Of course, I won't mind if you're a boy, but it would be nice to have another girl in the family.
It seems that the coming months are going to take forever, but before we know it it'll be time for you to be born. I can't wait to hold you in my arms and see your tiny face and hands and feet. I can't wait to see your eyes, if they'll be brown like your Mama's, or blue like your Daddy's. I can't wait to find out if you'll have blonde hair or brown, or if you'll be bald like I was. I just can't wait!
