For Kenna's birthday this year I wanted to do something different, such as a scavenger hunt to find her birthday present. This year I made the biggest birthday present that I had attempted, and it never would have worked without help from Grandma K.
We were out shopping for yarn when I saw a "Sew your own rag doll" kit. Immediately I knew that it would make the perfect birthday present for Kenna. Grandma kindly agreed to buy it for me, and we took it home to look it over.
There were four different pieces that needed to be assembled: two hair ribbons, one dress, and one doll. The dress turned out to be reversible, so Grandma decided to take it home to sew, and I got the hair ribbons and the doll. Grandma had finished the dress and mailed it out to me before I had even started the doll, so I felt pretty guilty. I got to work and finished the doll in two days, which is pretty amazing, because it was my first time using the sewing machine by myself. I think that Kenna will be pleased with her doll, which brings us back to the scavenger hunt. I've decided to post the clues here, so here they are before I forget what I'm doing:
1. You are holding your very first clue;
To find the next one go to Lucan's room.
2. You're doing well, now off you go
To the place where Charis likes to sew.
3. Your next clue takes you away
Where Mama will make your cake today.
4. You're doing such a good job so far!
Now run to the place where all our books are.
5. Your next clue is cold, I bet.
Look in the place where food is kept.
6. Is riding outside one of the things you like?
Hurry off to check your bike.
7. Look at you, over halfway done!
Go to the playroom where you like to have fun.
8. Almost there, Kenna, you're getting so close!
Your next clue is on Tobin's bed, I know.
9. The next clue is where music peals
And where we often eat our meals.
10. Oh my goodness, clue number ten!
Run to the door that lets visitors in.
11. You're getting excited, aren't you sweetie?
You'll find your last clue behind the T.V.
12. The very next one you will like best.
Go to the place where you always rest.

Silly Kenna
Kenna has been being very funny the last few days and I wanted to tell you what she's been up to.
A few days ago: "Ahhh! Buggy! Come to me, buggy. You want me, buggy? You want Kenna?"
This morning: Kenna walks out onto the back porch. Lucan is sitting in the shade. Her first words to him are: "Hi Bud."
This afternoon: Arden is drinking out of a water bottle. Kenna screams: "No! Dat mine!
When she plays with her dolls: "Waaa. Baby crying. Here baby. You need diaper change?"
When Mom finishes reading her a story: Kenna: "More, more." Mom: "Not right now." Kenna: "Awww."
Nap time: Mom puts Kenna down for a nap. If she or Dad is not lying on my bed she sneaks out, comes downstairs, and hides unless someone finds her, and then she goes back upstairs.
